Street Colours

⇐ Go Back

As you walk along the street with your child take the opportunity to talk about what you can see. Talk about the traffic; ask if the child can see a red car, a green bus, a blue bike and so on. Talk about the traffic lights and why they change colour. Ask the child questions about what a red or green traffic light means and make sure you give the child plenty of time to answer. If you do not live near roads with much traffic you can look around the area close to home and talk about the different colours you can see. This is a simple and fun activity that encourages language development
